Educator Workshop: Summer Secondary Physics Institute - Modern Physics, Fermilab, and NGSS

Description: The Summer Secondary Science Institutes are one- or two-week workshops on science content and classroom experiments and techniques for high school teachers. None is a prerequisite for any other.

Learn how to connect your classroom to the physics of Fermilab and the NGSS! Master Teachers will lead discussion and exploration of the NGSS DCI and effective pedagogy and laboratory experiences for use in participants' own classrooms. Laboratory experiments will include work with both traditional equipment and computer-based data-taking devices. Classroom connections to the NGSS DCI will be made through tours of selected Fermilab sites and discussions with Fermilab physicists and engineers.

Fee: $400/person
Graduate credit: 2 semester hours can be arranged.
